Get a line on history

Lowndes Park is the starting point for several of Chesham’s village and country walks. On the way through, stop and look at the Chesham Revealed Historical Timeline, displayed on a freestanding board.

The timeline traces the development of the town from 10000 BC to 2000 AD and identifies key features of the view that unfolds before you. To find it, walk up the righthand side of the park and turn left to follow the hedge. The timeline is at the far corner.

To the side you’ll see The Rolling Pin  – a mound surrounded by trees, for many years a source of mystery as described on the  Friends of Lowndes Park website
