DESCRIPTION:The Great Chesham Pancake Race returns!! Another free event organised by Chesham Connect – all welcome!\n\n\nCelebrating this old Chesham Tradition and bringing some fun to February.\n\n\nTeams of four will run a relay race but instead of a baton\, they will pass a frying pan and pancake\, each runner stopping to toss the pancake twice. The winners of each heat will go on to the next round\, building up to the final race. All for the honour of being the winners of The Great Chesham Pancake Race 2026!\n\n\n\nFrying pans and pancakes (don’t eat them!) for the race will be provided.\n\n\n\nSign up now! You can enter a team\, or as a solo and be matched up with teammates on the day. DESCRIPTION:Lenten organ recitals every Friday in Lent at United Reformed Church\, Chesham\nTake time out and listen to one or more of the organ recital series\, every Friday lunchtime during Lent with a Grade 1 organ. \nEach recital starts at 12.30pm for a duration of approximately 25 minutes. Optional lunch afterwards with a suggested donation of £4. All welcome. \nThis beautiful church has hosted over 300 years of worship on the site. \nLenten 2026 recital dates and organists\n\n20 February – Gerard Anderson\n27 February – Frances Atkinson\n6 March – Georges Orme\n13 March – Peter Willett\n20 March – Martin Paxton\n27 March – Andrew Winton\n\nThe organ has been awarded a certificate Grade 1 in recognition of it being an outstanding example of a pneumatic pipe instrument made by Forster & Andrews in 1886. \nAll are welcome and admission to the recitals is free but donations gratefully received. This is followed by an optional light lunch in our hall behind the Sanctuary with a suggested donation of £4.\nDonations will be split between the upkeep of the organ and the Thomas Gascoigne Bursary Fund for aspiring students.. \nThe recitals are organised by Buckinghamshire Organists’ Association and Chesham United Reformed church. \nFurther details of the event and fund \n  \n

Residents of all faiths and none are warmly invited to join members of Chesham Mosque and the wider community in breaking the fast together. \nPlaces for the organised fast-breaking itself are by application for Chesham residents\, but the High Street remain open and welcome for passersby to experience the atmosphere and find out more from the organisers. \nThe event will be a welcoming evening of friendship\, reflection and unity — with shared food and conversation\, highlighting the true spirit of Ramadan as a time of togetherness and charity.\nOpen to all – spaces limited.
