SUMMARY:Lenten Organ Recitals
DESCRIPTION:Lenten organ recitals every Friday in Lent at United Reformed Church\, Chesham\nTake time out and listen to one or more of the organ recital series\, every Friday lunchtime during Lent with a Grade 1 organ. \nEach recital starts at 12.30pm for a duration of approximately 25 minutes. Optional lunch afterwards with a suggested donation of £4. All welcome. \nThis beautiful church has hosted over 300 years of worship on the site. \nLenten 2026 recital dates and organists\n\n20 February – Gerard Anderson\n27 February – Frances Atkinson\n6 March – Georges Orme\n13 March – Peter Willett\n20 March – Martin Paxton\n27 March – Andrew Winton\n\nThe organ has been awarded a certificate Grade 1 in recognition of it being an outstanding example of a pneumatic pipe instrument made by Forster & Andrews in 1886. \nAll are welcome and admission to the recitals is free but donations gratefully received. This is followed by an optional light lunch in our hall behind the Sanctuary with a suggested donation of £4.\nDonations will be split between the upkeep of the organ and the Thomas Gascoigne Bursary Fund for aspiring students.. \nThe recitals are organised by Buckinghamshire Organists’ Association and Chesham United Reformed church. \nFurther details of the event and fund \n  \n
